The MRS Bulletin Postdoctoral Publication Prize recognizes postdoctoral researchers for their intellectual merit and the impact of their research and scholarship. Candidates should have an interest in scientific publications and/or science writing and communications, and show promise for future scientific contributions in the broad materials field.

Scholarship Award: The prize will cover the followings:

  • $2000 cash award
  • Profile published in MRS Bulletin
  • Complimentary one-year membership in Materials Research Society
  • Invitation to publish in MRS Bulletin
  • Recognition at MRS Fall Meeting, Boston

 Eligibility: The following criteria must be met in order for applicants to be eligible for the scholarship:

  • Candidates should have an interest in scientific publications and/or science writing and communications and show promise for future scientific contributions in the broad materials field.
  • Candidates need not be a current member of the Materials Research Society to apply.
  • Candidates must be a postdoctoral scholar/researcher at the time of application—at least six months post-PhD, but no more than five years post-PhD.

Nationality: UK citizens are eligible to apply for this prize.

  • Samples of published work
  • Either perspective-type news article or proposal (extended abstract) for review article in MRS Bulletin
  • All materials must be submitted in one email to BulletinPrize-at-mrs.org
