Due to the recent evolution of “systems” science, a new scientific landscape has emerged requiring a different model of research training; one that crosses disciplinary boundaries to provide training in mathematical skills in concert with training in the biosciences. An exciting new initiative between the Faculties of Medicine, Nursing & Health Sciences and Information Technology will see the introduction of new PhD scholarships at this important interdisciplinary boundary.
