The MaxNetAging Research School (MNARS) is awarding up to 8 doctoral fellowships for the duration of 3 years. The program focuses on topics of aging ranging across the full spectrum of the behavioral and social sciences, biology, law and the humanities. Women, handicapped individuals are especially encourages them to apply. Successful candidates will receive a competitive salary according to the regulations of the Max Planck Society. In addition, the MNARS provides funding for travel support, conference visits, and summer schools. The application deadline is September 13, 2015.

Eligibility: The Max Planck Institute for Demographic Research in Rostock, Germany, seeks qualified people for a number of positions. Applicants should have a background in demography or a related field in the social or biological sciences, mathematics or statistics. Staff will be recruited internationally solely on the basis of qualification. Applications from women and persons with disabilities are encouraged. The Institute is bilingual (German and English) with most publications in English.

Scholarship Description: The MaxNetAging Research School (MNARS) is seeking applications for PhD Student Positions, starting in February 2016. MNARS is an international graduate program launched by the Max Planck International Research Network on Aging (MaxNetAging). The program focuses on topics of aging ranging across the full spectrum of the behavioral and social sciences, biology, law and the humanities. Each PhD student enrolled in the MNARS will be affiliated with one participating Max Planck Institute. During the first six months of the MNARS all doctoral students will study together at the Max Planck Institute for Demographic Research in Rostock

Number of award(s): The MaxNetAging Research School (MNARS) offers up to 8 doctoral fellowships.

Duration of award(s): Fellowships are available for the duration of 3 years.

What does it cover? Successful candidates will receive a Support Contract for the duration of 3 years which is based on the Collective Wage Agreement for the Civil Service (TVöD Bund) in terms of the level of remuneration (EG13 /50%). The Support Contract establishes an employment relationship under social insurance law and is subject to tax liability.

Selection Criteria: The Max Planck Society wishes to increase the share of women in areas where they are underrepresented, and strongly encourages women to apply. The Max Planck Society is committed to employing more handicapped individuals and especially encourages them to apply.
