ASIS Scholarship at University of Phoenix in USA, 2016

The University of Phoenix invites applications for ASIS scholarships from prospective student to complete an undergraduate or Master’s Degree at the University. Recipient may choose to attend a University of Phoenix on-ground campus or may attend University of Phoenix online. This award is a full-tuition scholarship that will cover 100% of tuition for the degree program specified on the scholarship application. The application deadline is December 1, 2015.

Eligibility: Applicants for the scholarship must demonstrate the following to be considered:
-If applicants reside in the United States, they must meet one of the following requirements: be a legal resident of the United States; have been granted permanent residency; have a valid visa that does not prohibit educational studies; have been granted temporary protected status along with approved Notice of Action issued by Citizen Immigration Services and verified through CIS Form g-845; or have been granted asylum along with the approved Notice of Action issued by the Citizen Immigration Services. Applicants who do not currently reside in the United States may disregard this criterion.
-Applicants must be a security practitioner or aspire to a career in this field. Applicants who evidence dedication this security profession through participation in a related professional association(s), who have published articles, research or demonstrated other commitment to this professional pathway will have preferred consideration.
-Applicants must not be currently enrolled nor in the process of enrolling at a University of Phoenix campus or an online program at any time prior to the scholarship award date. Applicants who enroll after submitting an application, or before, the award date are not eligible to be a recipient of this scholarship.
-Applicants must meet all admissions requirements of University of Phoenix.
-Applicants must not be an employee (including full and part time faculty members) or family member (spouse, dependent child or domestic partner) of an employee of Apollo Education Group, Inc., University of Phoenix, Western International University, Institute for Professional Development or any other subsidiary of Apollo Education Group, Inc.
-Applicants must submit a complete, signed application, together with all supporting documentation by the deadline date. The completion of the application form does not create an obligation to award a scholarship to applicant.
-Applicants must submit completed essays as described in the Essay section. High importance will be placed on the applicant’s desire to advance in their education, with an emphasis on furthering their careers, and their impact in the community in which they reside.
-Applicants must submit one letter of recommendation as described in the Letter of Recommendation section.

Scholarship Description: University of Phoenix is pleased to partner with the ASIS Foundation to offer a scholarship program. The ASIS Foundation provides funding and manages endowments with the primary object of conducting timely, security-related research of contemporary threats and best practices. The Foundation also provides scholarships and awards to ensure that those in the field of security management are recognized and able to realize the highest academic achievements. In honor of Jeff Greipp, an Apollo Education Group, Inc. (AEG) employee who passed away in July 2015, ASIS and University of Phoenix have named the ASIS Foundation Scholarship after him.  Jeff was a dedicated University of Phoenix/AEG employee who forged an enduring relationship that is yielding significant progress in the evolution of security education.

What does it cover? This award is a full-tuition scholarship that will cover 100% of tuition for the degree program specified on the scholarship application. The actual value of the scholarship you receive is dependent on many different variables including but not limited to transferability of any credits, campus location, modality and degree program. University of Phoenix offers a financial planning tool to provide recipients with an estimated degree program cost. Scholarship will be applied only to tuition and the following fees, as specified on the scholarship application, when applicable: application, electronic course materials, Prior Learning Assessment (PLA) credits, directed study and additional classes for intended program licensure. PLA submission fees, educational supplies, living expenses, physical textbooks and other fees not listed are not included.

Selection Criteria: The scholarship award will be based on the committee’s scores of the overall quality of the application and the scholarship essays. The higher the average score, the higher the probability of selection. Scholarship selection shall be made without regard to race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, age, national origin, disability, veteran status, or any other category protected by federal, state, or local law.

Notification: The scholarship committee will determine the recipients of the scholarship by the award date, February 2, 2016. All applicants with a submitted application will be notified via email, regardless if selected as a recipient or not, by award date regarding the status of the scholarship.

How to Apply: Access the University of Phoenix ASIS Foundation Scholarship online application. If you are under 21 years of age, you must submit the following supplemental materials:
-Print a hard copy of the University of Phoenix Terms & Conditions and the Apollo Group, Inc. Consent and Release Form.
-You and your parent or legal guardian must complete both forms.
-Scan and upload both completed forms to the online application (“Online Application Acknowledgement” section).
