The School of Physics and Astronomy offers up to four Master’s scholarships in High Performance Computing for the 2016-2017 academic session. Applicants of all nationalities are eligible to apply for this scholarship. Scholarship is awarded to undertake undergraduate program.

University offers a number of general and subject-specific funding schemes. The aim of the scholarships is to attract the best and most motivated people to Edinburgh.

The University of Edinburgh, founded in 1582, is the sixth oldest university in the English-speaking world and one of Scotland’s ancient universities. The University’s mission is the creation, dissemination and curation of knowledge.

The entry requirement is UK 2:1 honours degree or its international equivalent. University accepts all of the English language qualifications for entry to the University, including IELTS qualifications from any IELTS test centre.

Course Level: Scholarships are provided for undergraduate studies at University of Edinburgh.

Study Subject: Up to four Masters scholarships are available for High Performance Computing programme in 2016-2017.

Scholarship Award: Each scholarship will have a value of £4,750 and will be tenable for one academic year. The award of your scholarship will be deducted from your tuition fee.

Eligibility: These scholarships are awarded competitively on the broadly basis of academic merit.
-All applicants, regardless of their nationalities, who have been accepted for admission to the MSc in High Performance Computing or the MSc in High Performance Computing with Data Science before the scholarship deadline are eligible to be considered.
-Applicants must have, or expect to obtain, a UK first class or 2:1 Honours degree or its international equivalent.

Nationality: International students can apply for these scholarships.

College Admission Requirement: The entry requirements are a UK 2:1 honours degree or its international equivalent (link is external) in computer science, physics, informatics, mathematics, engineering or chemistry and experience in computer programming. Applicants who have equivalent work experience may also be considered.

English Language Requirements: All students of every nationality are required to prove their English language competence. Even native-speakers of English must demonstrate that they meet our minimum language requirements to gain entry to the University. University accept all of the English language qualifications for entry to the University, including IELTS qualifications from any IELTS test centre. Applicants who require an IELTS test as part of an application for degree-level studies may take this test at any IELTS centre.

Masters Scholarships

Supporting Material: -In order to be considered for the MSc programmes, you are required to send the completed application form, two references, copies of degree transcripts, degree certificate and English Language qualification.

-Applicants should supply as many supporting documents as possible. However, if you have not yet received your English language qualification or final results from your academic institution, you can still apply and send these documents at a later date. Please note that your place will not be secured until you provide all the supporting documents required.

How to Apply: No separate scholarship application is required. In order to be considered for the scholarship, please apply for the MSc programmes before 1st May 2016.

Application Deadline: The closing date for application is 1st May 2016.
