For the academic year 2016/2017, Estonian School of Diplomacy (ESD), in co-operation with the Estonian Ministry of Foreign Affairs is pleased to offer scholarships for young diplomats and civil servants. This scholarship is available to participate in nine-month training program taking place at the Estonian School of Diplomacy, from September 12, 2016 until May 31, 2017.
ESD operates as a foundation/ non-profit institution with an objective to promote theoretical and practical knowledge in the field of international relations, European integration, diplomac and public administration reform.
Applicant should have very good command of English (speaking, reading, writing skills are required on the level of advanced).
Course Level: Scholarships are available for nine-month training program at Estonian School of Diplomacy in Tallinn.
Study Subject: Scholarships are awarded for a training program ‘International Relations and European Integration’.
List of Subjects: The training course includes three thematic modules: International Relations; European Studies and Diplomatic Studies.
Scholarship Award: The scholarship includes:
-tuition fee;
-monthly allowance (450 EUR);
-accommodation in Tallinn (incl. utilities and internet connection);
-health insurance in Estonia during the studies;
-cost of Schengen visa and Estonian residence permit;
-scholarship does NOT cover the costs of travel to and from Tallinn.

Eligibility: In order to apply for scholarship, applicant must follow the given criteria:
Nationality: Students from Albania, Armenia, Azerbaijan, Afghanistan, Bhutan, Egypt, Georgia, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Moldova, Morocco, Myanmar, Palestine Authority, Sri Lanka, Tajikistan and Ukraine can apply for this training scholarship program.
College Admission Requirement
Entrance Requirement: Applicants must have achieved 60 ECTS Credit Points.
Test Requirement: No
English Language Requirement: Applicant should have very good command of English (speaking, reading, writing skills are required on the level of advanced).
Supporting Material: The applicant should present:
-ESD application form;
-CV in English;
-Motivation letter (1 page/300-400 words, explaining the reasons for applying, previous experience and how the studies will benefit the student’s future development);
-copies of university transcript in (unofficial) English translation, i.e. diploma of higher education and academic record;
-copy of (international) passport;
-1 passport-sized photograph (to be added to the application form);
-academic essay (1,300-1,500 words with references) to be written on one of the chosen topics below:
a. My three visions on future US foreign policy
b. Europe without the European Union
c. After Sykes-Picot’: a new international settlement for the Middle East
d. Que vadis Eastern Partnership?
e. China and India: the extent of Asian international influence
