Up to 30 Postgraduate Opportunity Scholarships are available for UK students at Newcastle University in UK. These scholarships are available for students joining taught or research master’s programme in engineering and science.

Newcastle University’s aim is to be a world-class research-intensive University and deliver teaching and facilitate learning of the highest quality.

The University is governed by a number of statutory bodies. The executive board comprises the senior management team that has oversight of the day-to-day running of the University. The Newcastle University aims to lead the world in research and education.

Applicant should include a test certificate (IELTS or equivalent) to confirm their English language ability if their first language is not English.

Course Level: Scholarships are available for taught or research Master’s degree programme.

Study Subject: The scholarships are offered to study engineering and science courses.

Scholarship Award: The Scholarship worth up to £5,000 award per student for UK/EU students to research postgraduate course.

Eligibility: The applicant must meet the following criteria:
-have been offered a place to study full time for one year or a maximum of two years part time on one of the University’s eligible taught or research Master’s courses commencing in September 2016.
-are UK students progressing from undergraduate courses for which they were charged the higher tuition fee applying since 2012/13 and falling into the following categories:
-a student living in England when they entered undergraduate study at any UK institution from September 2012 or 2013
-a student living in Scotland when they entered undergraduate study at any English, Northern Irish or Welsh institution from September 2012 or 2013
-a student living in Northern Ireland when they entered undergraduate study at any English, Scottish or Welsh institution from September 2012 or 2013.

Nationality : Applicants from UK are eligible to apply for this scholarship programme.

College Admission Requirement

Entrance Requirements: Applicants must have been offered a place to study full time for one year or a maximum of two years part time on one of the University’s eligible taught or research Master’s courses commencing in September 2016.

English language Requirements: In most cases applicant will need an overall score of IELTS 6.5 or equivalent. Applicant will also need at least IELTS 5.5 or equivalent in each of the four sub-skills: Writing; Reading; Speaking; Listening. Individual course pages list if applicant need an overall IELTS score or sub-scores higher than this.

Supporting Material: The applicants should submit following documents along with the application:
-Applicant’s will need to supply certified English language translations if any of their documents are in another language.
-They should include a test certificate (IELTS or equivalent) to confirm their English language ability if their first language is not English.
-If applicants are from outside the EU, they will also need to include a copy of the personal details page from their passport.
-They do not need to send any pre-university qualification documentation, non-translated documents or non-academic certificates of achievement.
If university make applicants an offer, university may ask them to provide the original copies or certified copies of any documents applicants included with their application. They would normally bring these documents with them to Registration.
