University of Buckingham is offering postgraduate scholarship beginning in September 2016. Buckingham graduates or overseas graduates are eligible to apply.

The main objective of the university is to provide high quality, comprehensive educational and training opportunities that are compatible to changing needs of the students.

The NSS provides all final-year undergraduate students in UK higher education institutions and further education colleges with the opportunity to express their opinions on what they liked during their time at university. The UK Borders Agency (UKBA) has rules about the level of English needed before they will issue a visa to study in the UK. It is also very important that applicant’s English level is of a good standard for them to be successful in their studies. All applicants must achieve the minimum requirements in all 4 components (listening, reading, speaking and writing).

Course Level: Scholarships are available for undertaking postgraduate studies at Buckingham.

Study Subject: Scholarships are awarded in all subjects offered by the university.

Scholarship Award: Up to two scholarships worth up to £4,000 each towards one year’s postgraduate study. Applicants must be able to show that they are able to fund remaining costs from their own resources.

Eligibility: The following criteria must be met in order for applicants to be eligible for this scholarship:

Scholarships are available for Buckingham graduates or for overseas graduates undertaking postgraduate studies at Buckingham, and for Buckingham students attending Massey College, University of Toronto, to undertake postgraduate studies there. Students who obtain a Master’s degree are then eligible to apply to have their PhD studies funded by the University of Toronto. Anyone interested in applying for the Ondaatje Scholarship should already have the offer of a place at Buckingham for postgraduate study, but cannot apply once they have commenced their Master’s degree.

Nationality: Buckingham graduates or overseas graduates are eligible to apply.

College Admission Requirement

Entrance Requirements: Anyone interested in applying for the Ondaatje Scholarship should already have the offer of a place at Buckingham for postgraduate study, but cannot apply once they have commenced their Master’s degree.

English language Requirements: The UK Borders Agency (UKBA) has rules about the level of English needed before they will issue a visa to study in the UK. It is also very important that applicant’s English level is of a good standard for them to be successful in their studies. All applicants must achieve the minimum requirements in all 4 components (listening, reading, speaking and writing). The University of Buckingham has higher requirements than the minimum specified for a degree level course in the UK (Common European Framework, grade B2).

Test Requirements: The IELTS and TOEFL standard of English Language levels listed below are applicable to all postgraduate courses except MA English Literature by Research where the minimum grade for IELTS is 7.0 (with 6.5 or above in each component).

Pearson Test of English Academic (PTE Academic) 59-65 (with 4 minimum component scores of 59)

UK Scholarships

Supporting Material: Applications should include a covering checklist, an up-to-date Curriculum Vitae (CV), an academic reference and a letter stating your proposed programme of study, why they wish to undertake it and why they believe that they should be awarded the scholarship.

How to Apply: Applications should be submitted via post.
