The Swiss Forum for International Agricultural Research (SFIAR) is offering research award for graduates and scientists of a Swiss institution who work in agricultural research for development.
With this award, the SFIAR aims to support relevant agricultural research for development (ARD) and to promote knowledge on and visibility of Swiss ARD.
The Swiss Forum for International Agricultural Research (SFIAR) is an informal multi-stakeholder group of Swiss institutions and private individuals interested in agricultural research for development (ARD).
Course Level: Award is available for undertaking research.
Study Subject: Award supports relevant agricultural research for development.
Scholarship Award: The Award is offered annually. Based on a recommendation by the Selection Committee the SFIAR may decide that the award for a particular year will be restricted to one category only, i.e. young researcher/Ph.D./Post Doc or team1, and that further restrictions may also be applied. The SFIAR Award 2016 is restricted to the following: one prize (CHF 5’000) for the best Ph.D. or Post-Doc project; one prize (CHF 1’000) for the best Master thesis.

Eligibility: Eligible for the SFIAR Award is research that
- Has been carried out at or in close collaboration with a Swiss institution involved in ARD
- Has appropriate linkages in developing countries
- Has been completed preferably no longer than three years ago (for Master Thesis Award: thesis not older than 18 months)
Nationality: Graduates and Scientists of a Swiss institution can apply for this award.

Entrance Requirement: Applicants must have their previous degree.
Test Requirement: Not required
English Language Requirements: Not required

How to Apply: Applicants have to fill in the attached application form in English, French or German. Please send application form by post and the following documents by e-mail:
- Short CV (max. 1 page)
- Description of your research (max. 2 pages)
- For Ph.D. Or Post Doc project: list with further information on your research (publications, websites, referees who may optionally be contacted, etc.)
- For Master thesis project: a pdf copy of the Master thesis itself, which may, optionally, be referenced by the Award Committee
Application Deadline: The application deadline is 14 July 2016.
