Cardiff University is inviting applications for PhD Studentship in Engineering. EU (Non UK), International (Non EU) and UK applicants are eligible to apply.
The aim of the PhD studentship is to enable and encourage academically able students from any nationality.
Cardiff is established as one of Britain’s leading universities. Its ambition is to be among the top 100 universities in the world and top 20 in the UK.
Candidates should hold or expect to gain a first class degree or a good 2.1 and/or an appropriate Master’s level qualification (or their equivalent).
Course Level: Studentship is available for PhD programme at Cardiff University in UK.
Study Subject: Studentship is tenable in Large-scale real-time data processing and knowledge mining for life cycle built environment design, construction and operation (PhD Studentship).
Scholarship Award: This studentship consists of full UK/EU tuition fees, and an annual stipend equivalent to current Research Council rates (approx. £14,296 stipend for academic year 2016/17).

Eligibility: Candidates should hold or expect to gain a first class degree or a good 2.1 and/or an appropriate Master’s level qualification (or their equivalent). Candidates with either of the following skills would be particularly suited to the post:
- Computer science background – who has excellent skills on Cloud computing, Big Data analytics, machine learning/data mining etc.
- Computational Engineering background – who has excellent optimization algorithm development capability and ideally with High performance based computing experience.
- Applicants whose first language is not English will be required to demonstrate proficiency in the English language (IELTS 6.5 or equivalent)
- Residency: This studentship is open to Home, EU or Overseas Candidates. However, Overseas candidates should note that they will be required to cover the difference between Home and Overseas fees each year.
