The University of St Andrews is pleased to offer 33-month postdoctoral fellowship, beginning January 2017. International applicants are eligible to apply for this fellowship.
Its purpose is to undertake and publish top-quality research in theology and science, to teach as needed in the field, to participate in related science and religion workshops, and to complete related administrative tasks as directed.
The University of St Andrews is the third-oldest university in the English-speaking world and is consistently ranked among the top in the United Kingdom. The School of Divinity is the top-ranked theology and religion program in the UK, according to The Guardian. It has a diverse and ecumenical faculty and a highly international student body.
Course Level: This is a 33-month postdoctoral fellowship, beginning January 2017.
Study Subject: Fellowship is awarded in the field of Theology & Science.
Scholarship Award: Salary amounted £31,656 – £34,576 per annum will be awarded. Salary and research/travel budget are competitive.

Eligibility: The following criteria must be met in order for applicants to be eligible for scholarship:
- Applicants must hold a Ph.D. in theology (broadly conceived) or a science. Advanced degrees in both theology/religion and a science are preferable. The successful candidate will have the potential for world-class research at the intersection of theology and science, a clearly-defined research agenda that is both ambitious and achievable, and excellent teaching skills. Ideally, the candidate’s project and interests will complement existing strengths in the University’s School of Divinity.
- Applications are particularly welcome from women, who are under-represented in Research posts at the University.
Nationality: International applicants are eligible to apply for this fellowship.

How to Apply: A complete application includes the following:
- Cover letter.
- Outline for a new, undergraduate course in science and religion (1-page maximum).
- Research agenda (3 pages or less), describing how the 33 months will be spent, identifying specific and achievable outputs. This should include a technical section suitable for evaluation by scholars in your specific research area.
- Three letters of recommendation (sent directly from the recommender or a dossier service).
