The International Journalists’ Programs (IJP) German-Turkish Journalism Scholarship for the academic session of 2017. The scholarship is provided to both to both German and Turkish journalists in Germany.

The aim of the scholarships is to give young, ambitious journalists from Germany the opportunity to become familiar with Turkey.

The International Journalists’ Programs (IJP) are a non-profit organization, which is both independent and economically and politically independent, to promote young journalists. The IJP is a registered association in Germany.

Course Level: The scholarship is available for Journalist.

Study Subject: The scholarship is awarded in the field of journalism.

Scholarship Award: The scholarship will cover the following:

  • The scholarship consists of a one-off payment of 3,800 Euros. This amount is intended as a subsidy to cover expenses for travel expenses, accommodation and meals during the stay abroad.

Scholarship can be taken in Germany

Eligibility: Applicants must meet the following area for the scholarship:

  • Any journalist between 23 and 35 years, who is a freelance, volunteer or editor of German media, can apply. Candidates do not need to have Turkish knowledge, but they should be fluent in spoken and written English.

Nationality: German and Turkish journalists can apply for the scholarship.

College Admission Requirement

Entrance Requirement: Applicants must be journalists.

English Language Requirement: Applicants must be fluent in spoken and written English.

Journalism Scholarship

How to Apply: Applicants can apply by post.

  • The written application must be accompanied by:
  • A tabular CV with passport
  • A motivation letter
  • A journalistic report from the head of the department or chief editor (which also supports the application, provides the leave of absence for the period of the scholarship, and serves as a journalistic proof of work)
  • Three written work samples; Television and radio journalists are asked not to send a cassette as proof of work, but a list of outstanding contributions
  • A preference for certain media
