The Paul Scherrer Institute is a multi-disciplinary research institute which belongs to the Swiss Federal Institutes of Technology Domain covering also ETH Zurich and EPFL. It was established in 1988 through the merger of EIR and SIN.

Students should have good written and verbal communication skills and enjoy working in an international team. Good English language skills are essential. German language is highly desirable.

Course Level: Position is available for pursuing research programme.

Study Subject: Position is available in the fields of matter and materials, energy and environment and human health.

Scholarship can be taken in Switzerland

Eligibility: Students have an advanced degree in engineering, energy/environmental science, economics and/or policy, with very good skills in quantitative methods. Mathematical programming and statistical analysis skills are highly beneficial for this position. They have a good understanding of techno-economic characteristics of energy technologies and Swiss and European energy policy issues, such as decarbonisation strategy, energy supply security, and the role of new technologies.

Entrance Requirement: Applicants must have previous degree.
