How to Apply

- To enter, students should individually fill in the entry form by hand-writing a short piece (no longer than 200 words) describing one change that they would make to the world if they had a magic pencil.
- All fields on the entry form must be filled in: student’s name, class or year group, school name, school address, and email address for the teacher or school.
Submitting Details:
The student’s teacher should then send the student’s completed entry form as a hard copy to-Malala’s Magic Pencil, C/O Marketing Department, Penguin Random House Children’s Books, 80 Strand, London, WC2R 0RL.
- Each entry must include the following information:
- Student’s name
- Class or year group
- School name school address
- Email address for the teacher or school
Benefits
- The three runners-up will each receive a collection of inspiring books for their school selected by the Promoter with themes of social justice, empathy and standing up for what you believe in, worth £100.
- The prizes are non-transferrable and no cash alternative will be offered.
- The prize for the winner is a large canvas print from Malala’s Magic Pencilfor the winner’s school, a winner’s trophy to display at the winner’s school,
- A collection of inspiring books for the winner’s school selected by the Promoter (with themes of social justice, empathy and standing up for what you believe in, worth £250) and 40 x special engraved ‘Malala’s Magic Pencil’ pencils for the winner’s class.
