BRC PhD Position in Bioinformatics at King’s College London in UK, 2018

King’s College London is looking for potential candidates with a degree in bio/info/maths sciences for PhD Position in Bioinformatics. The position is available for EU and Home students only.

The aim of the position is to enable applicants to embark on an independent career in academic stroke research.

King’s College London (informally King’s or KCL) is a public research university located in London, United Kingdom, and a founding constituent college of the federal University of London.

Scholarship Description:

  • Scholarship Award: PhD students will be funded for four years and will receive a stipend of approximately £16,000 each year.

Eligibility for the Scholarship:

  • Eligible Countries:  This fellowship is open to EU and Home students only.
  • Entrance Requirements: Applicants must meet following criteria:
  1. Basic science applicants should have or expect to obtain, a first- or upper-second-class honours degree or MSc with merit or distinction.
  2. Clinically qualified candidates should have demonstrated the potential to pursue a career as an academic clinician. It is anticipated that many applicants will have already commenced their specialist training but this is not essential.
  • English Language Requirements: Candidates must have a good command of English and be able to apply this in an academic environment. Therefore, candidates who have not been educated in English will usually be required to provide certificated proof of competence in English before starting their studies. This requirement may be waived, but only if the College is satisfied that previous academic record clearly demonstrates an ability to study and be examined in the English language.
