Here is a list of California Scholarships for Non-Residents. California is a state located on the West Coast of the United States. If you want to attend a college in the state of California you have many excellent academic institutions to choose from, both private and public, research universities and liberal arts colleges. There are many scholarships for non-U.S. citizens to study in the United States. Choosing your intended major or college is a good first step to finding scholarships to study in the States. The various California Scholarships are categorized as follows:

CISAC International Fellowships at Stanford University in USA, 2016-2017
The Center for International Security and Cooperation (CISAC) is offering international fellowships for the academic year 2016-2017. Fellowship is open for women, minorities and citizens of all countries. CISAC Fellows spend the academic year engaged in research and writing, and are encouraged to participate in seminars and to interact and collaborate with leading faculty and researchers. Past predoctoral fellows have received stipends in the range of $25,000 to $28,000; postdoctoral fellows have received stipends in the range of $48,000 to $66,000. The application deadline is January 16, 2016.

CASBS Residential Fellowship Program at Stanford University in USA, 2016-2017
Center for Advanced Study in the Behavioral Sciences (CASBS) is offering residential fellowship which is available for scientists and scholars from USA and abroad. CASBS fellowships have been awarded to many of the world’s most promising provocative and productive scholars working in a diverse range of disciplines. Center Fellows receive an official University “Stanford Fellow” designation and are given an identification card through which they are accorded library privileges at the University Libraries and sports privileges at the University’s sports facilities. Applications should be submitted till November 6, 2015.

Erasmus Mundus Masters Scholarship in Journalism, Media and Globalisation, 2016-2017
Applications are invited for Erasmus Mundas masters scholarships in Journalism, Media and Globalisation available for EU and Non-EU students. European students who are granted a Mundus scholarship will have to study module 5 and 6 in the spring semester at one of international partner universities: University of California at Berkeley; University of Technology Sydney; and Pontifical Catholic University of Chile. In 2015-17 the fees for the whole two-year course will be: €8,000 for EU nationals and €16,000 for non-EU nationals. The next application period will began in November 2015.

University of California Global Health Institute (UCGHI) GloCal Health Fellowship, 2016-2017
University of California Global Health Institute (UCGHI) is inviting applications for GloCal Health Fellowship to support an 11-month, mentored research. Fellowship is designed for doctoral students (PhD, DrPH, etc.), professional students (MD, DDS, DVM, PharmD, etc.), postdoctoral fellows, foreign postdoctoral fellows from participating international sites in low- and middle-income countries (LMICs) and junior faculty with a current NIH Career Development Award (K series or similar award). Postdoctoral fellows and junior faculty accepted into this program will be at their international research site for the full 11 consecutive months of their fellowship. Accepted doctoral/professional student trainees will spend their first four-week period at UCSF participating in the Designing Clinical Research course online, followed by 10 months at the international research site. Applications will be due November 1, 2015 for fellowships beginning in 2016.

Miller Research Fellowship at University of California in USA, 2016
Applications are invited for Miller research fellowship department chairs, faculty advisors, professors and research scientists at Miller Institute for Basic Research in Science around the world. Approximately eight to ten Fellowships are granted for a period of three years. The Fellowship term must commence between July 1 and September 1, 2016. Fellowships are intended for exceptional young scientists of great promise who have recently been awarded, or who are about to be awarded, the doctoral degree. Fellows are selected on the basis of their academic achievement and the promise of their scientific research. The fellowship nominations are due on September 10, 2015.

Merit Scholarships for Freshmen at Claremont McKenna College
Claremont McKenna College is offering three types of merit scholarships for international freshman applicants. The three types are McKenna Achievement Award – $10,000 / year, Seaver Leadership Award – Full Tuition / year and Interdisciplinary Science Scholarship (ISS) – Full Tuition / year. Common application should be submitting on or before December 1.

Performance Scholarships at University of La Verne
The University of La Verne will offer two $25,000 scholarships with fourth year full-tuition in each of the featured performance areas for the 2016-17 academic year. Scholarships are for incoming freshmen, international and transfer students only. Scholarships are renewable annually up to four years of undergraduate study based on the student’s academic progress and participation in the program. The application deadline is December 15, 2015.

CTF Scholarships for Non-Residents
The California Transportation Foundation (CTF) is awarding Caroline Alain-Rodman Memorial Scholarship. Students who are currently enrolled in good standing, or have been accepted to a California graduate school Master’s program, and have a minimum Undergraduate GPA of 3.0 and Graduate School GPA of 3.0 (if available). Scholarship has a value $1,000. The last date to apply is October 30, 2015.

Brooks Institute Global Scholarship Program
Brooks Institute provides a limited number of merit-based scholarships to international students (non-residents, non-citizens) who have demonstrated academic success and excellence in achievement. An undergraduate student may receive this scholarship for up to $6,000: $4,000 to be awarded during the student’s first academic year ($2,000 per semester) and $2,000 to be awarded during the student’s second academic year ($1,000 per semester). A master’s level student may receive this scholarship for up to $3,000: $2,000 to be awarded during the student’s first academic year ($1,000 per semester) and $1,000 to be awarded during the student’s second academic year ($500 per semester).
