Swansea University is inviting applications for materials science/nanotechnology: KESS PhD studentship. The studentship covers the full cost of UK/EU tuition fees, plus a stipend.  Applications are invited for a PhD studentship exploring the following theme: Surface Enhanced Ellipsometric Contrast Microscopy (SEEC): a Novel Tool for the Estimation of Thickness of Graphene-Based and other 2-D Type Nanomaterials. The application deadline is 28th August 2015.

Eligibility: These scholarships may potentially be funded by the European Social Fund by a KESS 2 programme currently in development – however, this is yet to be confirmed. If this is not funded by a KESS 2 project these scholarships will be funded by the appropriate College at Swansea University*.

Scholarship Open for International Students: The students of UK/EU can apply for the studentship.

If this is not funded by a KESS 2 project these scholarships will be funded by the appropriate College at Swansea University. Applications are invited for a PhD studentship exploring the following theme: Surface Enhanced Ellipsometric Contrast Microscopy (SEEC): a Novel Tool for the Estimation of Thickness of Graphene-Based and other 2-D Type Nanomaterials.  This scholarship provides 3 years funding with a 6 month period to complete the thesis. The achievement of a postgraduate skills development award (PSDA), is compulsory for each KESS 2 scholar and is based on a 60 credit award.

What does it cover? -The studentship covers the full cost of UK/EU tuition fees, plus a stipend.
-The bursary will be limited to a maximum of £14,002 p.a. dependent upon the applicant’s financial circumstances as outlined in section C point 4 on the KESS II Participant Proposal Form.
-There will also be additional funds available for research expenses.
-Please note: These scholarships may potentially be funded by the European Social Fund by a KESS 2 programme currently in development – however, this is yet to be confirmed. If this is not funded by a KESS 2 project, these scholarships will be funded by the appropriate college at Swansea University.
