University of Newcastle is offering a PhD scholarship for a student investigate Violence on the Colonial Frontier under the supervision of Professor Lyndall Ryan. Both international and Australian applicants will be considered. The candidate will be supported with a stipend to the value of $25,849 per annum in 2015 (tax free and indexed annually) for a period of 3 years, with the possibility of a 6 month extension. Scholarship Description: A PhD scholarship is available for a student investigate Violence on the Colonial Frontier under the supervision of Professor Lyndall Ryan. Prospective candidates are invited to submit a topic that will complement the project ‘Intimacy and Violence in Anglo Pacific Rim Colonial Societies, 1830-1930’ in the Centre for the History of Violence at the University of Newcastle. Topics on colonial violence or frontier colonial violence are welcomed. The candidate will be supervised by Professor Lyndall Ryan with input from Professor Philip Dwyer.
