The University of Edinburgh, School of Clinical Sciences offers up to ten online distance learning scholarship for the 2016-2017 academic session. Applicants of UK are eligible to apply for this scholarship. This is awarded to undertake MSc in Clinical Management of Pain.

University offers a number of general and subject-specific funding schemes. The aim of the scholarships is to attract the best and most motivated people to Edinburgh.

The University of Edinburgh is the sixth oldest university in the English-speaking world and one of Scotland’s ancient universities. The University’s mission is the creation, dissemination and curation of knowledge.

Applicants should already have been offered a place at the University of Edinburgh and should have firmly accepted that offer or be intending to do so. University accepts all of the English language qualifications for entry to the University, including IELTS qualifications from any IELTS test center.

Course Level: Scholarships are provided for online distance learning MSc programme at University of Edinburgh.

Study Subject: Scholarships are available for MSc in Primary Care Ophthalmology.

Scholarship Award: The scholarship will have a total value of 50% of course fees which will be deducted from the annual tuition fee for the part-time MSc programme of study.

Eligibility: To be eligible to apply:
Applicants must be intending to study the MSc Clinical Management of Pain (Online Distance Learning) in 2016-2017. Applicants intending to study the PGCert or PGDip element of this programme are eligible to apply.
-Applicants currently studying this programme in 2015-2016 are also eligible to apply if they intend to continue on this programme in 2016-2017.

Nationality: Students of UK can apply for these scholarships.

College Admission Requirement: The scholarship will be awarded broadly on the basis of academic merit and evidence of a commitment to a career in primary care optometry/ophthalmology. Applicants without an excellent or very good classification of undergraduate degree (equivalent to first or upper second class honours in the UK) but who have the relevant work experience (3-5 years) will be considered on a case by case basis.

English Language Requirements: All students of every nationality are required to prove their English language competence. Even native-speakers of English must demonstrate that they meet our minimum language requirements to gain entry to the University. University accept all of the English language qualifications for entry to the University, including IELTS qualifications from any IELTS test centre. Applicants who require an IELTS test as part of an application for degree-level studies may take this test at any IELTS centre.

Supporting Material: -In order to be considered for the programmes, applicants are required to send the completed application form, two references, copies of degree transcripts, degree certificate and English Language qualification.

-Applicants should supply as many supporting documents as possible. However, if you have not yet received your English language qualification or final results from your academic institution, you can still apply and send these documents at a later date. Please note that your place will not be secured until you provide all the supporting documents required.

Masters Scholarships

How to Apply: The mode of applying is online. All applications must be submitted no later than 30th June 2016.
Please note you will not be able to access the online application form unless you have applied for admission to the University of Edinburgh and have full EASE authentication.
In addition to the standard questions on the application, applicants should also provide the following information within their application:
-Explain how your attainment of this degree will benefit your career (300 words)
-Explain how your attainment of this degree will benefit the service you work in (300 words)
-What is it about this programme that makes you want to study with the University of Edinburgh? (250 words)
Each of the statements will be scored by three assessors, and applications with the highest score overall will be in contention. Where it is not possible to discern between high-quality applications, priority will be given to:
-Those who are in their first 10 years post-qualifying as a healthcare professional
-Those who have not previously received scholarships funds from the University of Edinburgh Clinical Management of Pain Programme
