Philosophy Department of University of Warwick is awarding 25 scholarships to fund postgraduate studies in 2016-17. Scholarships are available for pursuing postgraduate degree (MA and MPhil programmes) at University of Warwick.

This scholarship aims to assist high achieving and highly motivated international students.

Warwick is one of the UK’s leading universities, with an acknowledged reputation for excellence in research and teaching, for innovation, and for links with business and industry.

Candidates are normally expected to have: A Masters level degree in Philosophy or a Masters degree with a significant philosophy component. A certificate of English language Proficiency (where necessary).

Course Level:  Scholarships are available for Home/EU and Overseas candidates to pursue a postgraduate degree (MA and MPhil programmes).

Study Subject: Scholarships are tenable in all subject areas within Philosophy Department.

Scholarship Award: 25 scholarships are available. Each scholarship will provide £2000 towards your tuition fees. Awards will be made based on academic merit.

Eligibility: This competition is open to Home/EU and Overseas candidates. Please note that only full time students are eligible to apply.

College Admission Requirement: Entrance Requirement: Candidates are normally expected to have: A Masters level degree in Philosophy or a Masters degree with a significant Philosophy component. (Please note if you are considering applying for funding or a scholarship, you will require a minimum degree classification of merit), A strong research proposal, Two good academic references, An indication of who you would like to supervise your project, A certificate of English language Proficiency (where necessary) and In addition, applicants are required to submit undergraduate and postgraduate transcripts with their application (please note a writing sample is not required for PhD applications, as evidence of writing is provided through the research proposal). A CV can also be submitted if necessary.

Test Requirement: Not Required

English Language Requirements: All courses have been assigned to one of four English Language Test Bands (A to D). This table indicates the test band assigned to each department/course. A summary of required standards for each band is set out in the table below.

Band A courses           : Overall IELTS score of 6.5 and component scores.

Band B courses           : Overall IELTS score of 7.0 and component scores.

Band C courses           : Overall IELTS score of 7.5 and component scores.

Band D courses           : Overall IELTS score of 8.0 and component scores.

Philosophy Scholarship

Supporting Material: Submit your supporting documents (transcripts, writing sample, personal statement).

How to Apply: There is no separate application process for the scholarships. In order to be eligible, you must:
-Submit your MA or MPhil application no later than 12 February 2016
-Submit your supporting documents (transcripts, writing sample, personal statement) no later than 19 February 2016
-Ensure your references are received preferably by 19 February and no later than 26 February 2016
-All applications received on time will be automatically considered for the award.

Application Deadline: The scholarship application must be received by 12 February 2016.
