The Konstanz Research School Chemical Biology is pleased to offer International PhD Fellowships for 2016. The fellowship is intended for students with a keen interest in interdisciplinary research and with an excellent degree (Master or Diploma) in Biology, Chemistry, Computational Life Science, or related areas.
KoRS-CB aims to prepare the next generation of chemical biologists to tackle one of the great challenges of the future: explaining the processes of life in chemical terms.
The Research School is an interdisciplinary graduate programme jointly offered by the Departments of Biology, Chemistry, and Computer & Information Science, and is supported by the German Excellence Initiative.
Proficiency in English: at least level B2 of the Common European Framework of Reference for languages is required.
Course Level: Fellowships are available for pursuing PhD programme.
Study Subject: Fellowships are awarded in the field of Chemical Biology.
List of Subjects: Synthetic Chemistry, Cellular Biochemistry, Biomedicine, Biophysics and Computational Life Science
Scholarship Award: The Konstanz Research School Chemical Biology offers scholarships (1.450 € monthly) up to three years for excellent applicants.

Eligibility: In order to apply for scholarship, applicants must follow the given criteria:
-The DAAD grants stipends to international PhD fellows up to four years.
-To qualify for admission, applicants should hold a master’s degree (or equivalent) in Biology, Chemistry, Life Science, or related subjects.
-Applicants should have finished their studies significantly above average, and have a proven interest in chemical biology.
-At the time of application, applicants should not have stayed more than 15 months in Germany.
-The last final exam should have taken place during the past six years.
Nationality: International applicants can apply for this PhD fellowship.
College Admission Requirement
Entrance Requirement: Applicants should hold a master’s degree (or equivalent) in Biology, Chemistry, Life Science, or related subjects.
English Language Requirement: Proficiency in English: at least level B2 of the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages is required.
Supporting Material: The required components for complete application packet are as follows:-
-A maximum of three PhD projects they are interested in, chosen from the list of projects and ranked by their preference
-A motivation letter (max. 500 words)
-Contact details for two academic references (please note that we will contact them during the application process ourself)
-State where the call came first to their attention.
-Curriculum vitae (only accepted in chronological order)
-Copy of bachelor’s and master’s degree certificates (or equivalent) incl. transcripts of records
-Proven proficiency in English: at least level B2 of the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages is required (Here you can find detailed information on acccepted certificates).
