The Laboratory for Interdisciplinary Evaluation of Public Policies (LIEPP) is delighted to offer Doctoral fellowship programme in the field of Economics or Sociology or Political Science. Applicants of all nationalities are eligible to apply for this fellowship programme.
The aim of the Doctoral fellowship programme is to enable and encourage academically able students from all nationalities.
Sciences Po is an international research university and is among the best in the humanities and social sciences.
Since the language of instruction at French universities and colleges is French, applicants are required to prove their level of command of the French language. Applicants have to pass the following language tests: TCF (Test de connaissance du français – Test of knowledge of French) and Le TEF (Test d’évaluation de français – French assessment test).
Course Level: Fellowship is available for doctoral degree programme.
Study Subject: Fellowship is awarded in the field of Economics or Sociology or Political Science.
As an interdisciplinary project, LIEPP welcomes applications for doctoral positions in Economy, Sociology or Political Science, as long as the thesis projects are linked to the LIEPP’s research agenda on Public Policy Evaluation. LIEPP invite applications from a wide range of fields, including, inter alia, educational policies, fiscal policies, employment policies, social policies, housing & urban policies, higher education, public health policies or the public perceptions of policies.
Scholarship Award: Fellowship of € 1777 / month (gross salary, about 1,300€ net); 3-year contract starting in October 2016 will be awarded.

Eligibility: The following criteria must be met in order for applicants to be eligible for this Scholarship:
LIEPP is seeking strong candidates open to interdisciplinary dialogue. The candidate will hold a master’s degree (or equivalent) with a strong research component and have received at least some training in one or more of these disciplines: sociology, economics, and political science. S/he must have a good command of quantitative and/or qualitative methods. There is no nationality requirement; however a firm command of English is required.
Nationality: Applicants of all nationalities are eligible to apply for this fellowship programme.
College Admission Requirement
Entrance Requirements: The candidate will hold a master’s degree (or equivalent) with a strong research component and have received at least some training in one or more of these disciplines: sociology, economics, and political science.
English language Requirements: Since the language of instruction at French universities and colleges is French, applicants are required to prove their level of command of the French language. If they are enrolling in the first or second year of a study program at university in France, they must prove they have the adequate level of knowledge of French by either passing a language test or by obtaining a degree in French. If they are applying for studies at a Grande École, or they intend to study in the third year of a study program, or plan to enroll in a master’s or PhD program, they will have to check the French language requirement with your school in France since it varies depending on the study program. In general, they are expected to have a level of command of the French language corresponding to B1/B2 in the European Language Passport.
Test Requirements: Applicants have to pass the following language tests:

-a CV/resume;
-a transcript of records;
-a cover letter in English, briefly describing your intellectual trajectory so far and their interest with the LIEPP’s project (2 pages maximum);
-a thesis project in English (7,500 words maximum);
-an abstract summarizing the thesis project (250 words maximum);
-a writing sample (article, thesis, term paper, …);if possible, strongly encourage applicants to obtain one or two letters of recommendation.
