USAID STRIDE is offering Professional Science Master’s Scholarships for Filipino college graduates. These scholarships will be awarded to students who are currently pursuing or interested to pursue master’s degrees in science and technology in a U.S. university.
The Graduate Scholarship in Science and Technology (GraSST hopes to build a pool of scientists and technologists who will help drive innovation-led inclusive growth in the Philippines.
Science, Technology, Research, and Innovation for Development (STRIDE) Program is a five-year PHP 1.3 billion initiative by the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) that will spur inclusive economic growth by boosting science and technology research.
The candidate should have a very good command of the English language.
Course Level: Scholarships are available for pursuing Professional Science Master’s (PSM) program in a U.S. university.
Study Subject: Scholarships are awarded to undertake advanced studies in science and technology disciplines.
List of Subjects: Electronics, Chemical industries, Alternative energy, Translational medicine (pharmaceuticals and medical technologies), Agribusiness, ICT and mobile computing and Cross-cutting themes of manufacturing (including supply chains) and new product development
Scholarship Award: Each scholarship covers full tuition fees, allowance for food, housing, books and instructional materials, health insurance and travel expenses.

Eligibility: Applicants must meet the following guidelines:
-are Filipino citizen living in the Philippines at the time of application.
-are proficient in the English language.
-are in good health to pursue graduate studies in the U.S.
– have a college degree with excellent undergraduate and/or graduate records, preferably with at least 3.0 GPA (on a 4.0 scale) or 1.75 (on a 1.0 scale)
– must return to the Philippines immediately upon completion of study
Nationality: Filipino citizen can apply for these scholarships.
College Admission Requirement
Entrance Requirement: Minimum eligibility requirements for PSM Scholarship include Filipino citizenship, a Bachelor’s degree, good health, excellent academic records, and proficiency in English
Test Requirement: No
English Language Requirement: The candidate should have a very good command of the English language.
Supporting Material: In addition to the application for the scholarship, the applicant must submit the following documents
-Completed online application form
-Curriculum vitae
-Original or certified true copy of transcript of records for bachelor’s and master’s degrees from all colleges/universities attended
-Certified true copy of diploma (not original)
-Three (3) letters of recommendation from current or past professors and work supervisors
-Personal statement essay
-Clearance from past or existing scholarship obligations (optional at the time of application but required before granting final award)
-Philippine passport (valid for at least two years at the time of application)
Note: NBI clearance, GRE, and TOEFL scores are not required at the time of application.

Application Deadline: The application deadline for spring intake is June 1, 2016.
