The Belgian American Educational Foundation (B.A.E.F.) is inviting applications for fellowship to pursue Graduate study or Research in Belgium. United States citizens or permanent residents are eligible to apply for this fellowship programme.

The university provides modern educational and research environments that will enable students and researchers to face current challenges and to focus on knowledge as a principle driving force for development.

The B.A.E.F. fosters the higher education of deserving Belgians and Americans through its exchange fellowship program.

Applicants must have knowledge of Dutch, or French, or German which is optional.

Course Level: Fellowship is available for pursuing for graduate study or research in Belgium.

Study Subject: Fellowship is awarded to learn any of the courses offered by the university.

Scholarship Award: The B.A.E.F. will award up to ten fellowships as outright non-renewable grants carrying a stipend of $27,000 for Master’s or Ph.D. students
$31,000 for Post-doctoral Fellows.  In addition to the stipend, the Foundation will provide health insurance. No other supplements can be expected.

Scholarship can be taken at: Belgium (Belgian University or institution of higher learning)

Eligibility: The following criteria must be met in order for applicants to be eligible for fellowship:
-Applicants must either at the time of application be registered in a PhD.D. or equivalent degree program in the United States,
-or while holding the BAEF fellowship register in a graduate program (Master’s or PhD) in Belgium,
-or hold a Master’s, Ph.D., or equivalent degree. Post-doctoral applicants should by July 1, 2017 have no more than 2 years since obtaining their Ph.D. degree.
-Knowledge of Dutch, or French, or German is optional.
-Applicants must be citizens or permanent residents of the United States

College Admission Requirement

Entrance Requirements: Applicants must either at the time of application be registered in a PhD or equivalent degree program in the United States, or while holding the BAEF fellowship register in a graduate program (Master’s or Ph.D.) in Belgium.

English language Requirements: Applicants must have knowledge of Dutch, or French, or German which is optional.

Belgium Scholarships

Supporting Material: In addition to a completed application form, applicants must furnish undergraduate and graduate transcripts, a brief autobiographical statement, a statement of purpose, and 3 letters of recommendation.

How to Apply: Completed applications for the 2017-2018 fellowships must be submitted as electronic documents in pdf format attached to an email sent not later than October 31, 2016 to:  Emile.Boulpaep-at-yale.edu.
