A Ph.D. research fellowship in health psychology is available at the Department of Psychology, University of Oslo. The applicant will work on the research project “Healthy sexual ageing: A mixed-method study of sexual function and sexual well-being in older European adults” financed by the Norwegian Research Council.
The appointment is for a period of three years (with no teaching requirement). The fellowship period may be reduced if the candidate has previously been employed in a research fellowship position.

- Salary based on salary grade 50-57 (NOK 430 500 – 483 700 per annum). Allocated pay grade is normally salaried grade 50 on appointment (depending on competence).

Eligibility: Fellow should meet the following criteria in order to be eligible:
- A master’s degree in psychology, or equivalent social science degree that is relevant to the project, or a cand. Psychol degree, qualifying for admission to the Ph.D. programme at the Department of Psychology
- Applicants must have advanced quantitative analysis skills and experience with carrying out such analyses. Knowledge of, and interest in, sexual behaviour studies is considered an advantage.
- In order to carry out the Ph.D. project, applicants should be able to read and understand documents written in Norwegian and English.
- In the application letter, applicants should describe their qualifications, research experience and research interests, including main theoretical approaches, empirical focus and methodological approach. Applicants are also encouraged to submit up to two examples of their written work, e.g. the master’s thesis or published articles.
- In assessing the candidates, particular emphasis will be placed on academic qualifications, quality of previous work, methodological skills and suitability for the project. Potential candidates will be invited for an interview.
- Applicants must have native or near-native competence in a Scandinavian language and English.
Nationality: Norwegian and foreign applicants can apply for this fellowship.

Entrance Requirement: Applicants must have a master’s degree in psychology, or equivalent social science degree that is relevant to the project, or a candidate psychology degree, qualifying for admission to the Ph.D. programme at the Department of Psychology.
Test Requirement: No
English Language Requirements: A good command of English is required for all students attending the University of Oslo. International students; Ph.D. research fellows and post-doctoral research fellows who are not native speakers of English, must document their proficiency in English by taking one of the following internationally recognised tests
- TOEFL – Test of English as a Foreign Language
- IELTS – International English Language Testing Service
- Certificate in Advanced English (CAE) and Certificate of Proficiency in English (CPE) from the University of Cambridge
- Applicants to the programme for the Ph.D. degree in Science must obtain a minimum score of 550 (paper-based) or 213 (computer-based) or 80 (internet-based) on the TOEFL test or a minimum score of 6.5 on the IELTS (academic) test. The same applies to applicants for postdoctoral research fellow positions.
