2015 Ford Prize for Women in STEM Study, UK

Applications are invited for Ford Prize from female student starting her first year of a STEM undergraduate degree at a UK University. The judges will be looking for the successful candidate to articulate how they plan to continue a career within the STEM arena, setting out a clear vision of what they intend to do following graduation from their chosen academic studies. Entry to the competition is free and open to UK residents. There shall be only one winner and only one prize. The winner will receive a cheque for £1,000.00 at an event to be determined at a later date. The application deadline is November 6th 2015.

Eligibility: The Prize is open to all who qualify for entry. To be eligible to win the Prize, entrants must meet all three of the following criteria:
-Attend a UK University.
-Be a female student on her first year of a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering or Maths) undergraduate degree.
-Demonstrate that they are inspiring the next generation of scientists, engineers and technologists

Scholarship Open for International Students: The prize is open to UK residents.

Scholarship Description: Recognising that women are traditionally under-represented in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering or Maths) studies and the related professions, Ford is delighted to announce the 2015 Ford Prize for Women in STEM Study, which will recognise the achievements of women in STEM, encouraging other women to become involved. In association with the Ford PWN (Professional Women’s Network) the prize is to be awarded to a female student starting her first year of a STEM degree at a UK university, who can demonstrate how they are inspiring the next generation of scientists, engineers and technologists.

Number of award(s): There shall be only one winner and only one prize.

Duration of award(s): This a one time award.

What does it cover? The Prize is £1,000.

Selection Criteria: Judges are looking for women who can demonstrate their enthusiasm and commitment, inspiring the next generation of scientists, engineers and technologists.

Notification: The winner will be notified by email before 1st February 2016.

How to Apply: The entry form must be completed with all relevant information; incomplete entries will not be accepted. Scanned and signed entries must be emailed to pwnprize-at-ford.com.
