The Erasmus Mundus Master Course in European Literary Cultures is a program devoted to improving the quality of European Higher Education Area and strengthening intercultural communication.

It is a two-year full-time academic program. At the end of the two-year program, after defending their Master’s thesis before an international committee, CLE students receive two or three diplomas issued by the universities of the consortium where they spent at least one semester.
The language in which the courses are offered may vary according to the University providing them. The universities participating in the consortium are: Alma Mater Studiorum – Università di Bologna (Italy), Université de Haute-Alsace (Mulhouse, France), Université de Strasbourg (France), Aristoteleion Panepistimion Thessaloniki (Greece), Université Cheikh Anta Diop (Dakar, Sénégal).

Course Level: Master (Laurea magistrale).

Study Subject: European Literary Cultures.

Scholarship Award: Up to a maximum of € 22.000 per year.

Eligibility: In order to apply to the CLE Master’s Course, the candidates must:
-have an excellent curriculum studiorum;
-possess a BA-equivalent diploma (180 credits) allowing access to education Bac + 5 (i.e. a « Laurea triennale », a « Licence» or a Bachelor of Arts, etc.);
-possess  a university diploma on the following subjects: Literature, Language (Linguistic and Language Sciences, Philology), History, Art History;
-know at least English (minimum level B1) and the language (minimum level B1) of the University of the consortium where they intend to spend their first year in the program.

Nationality: Students from all over the world are eligible for an Erasmus+ EMJMD scholarship.

Course Admission Requirement: The candidates must possess a BA-equivalent diploma (180 credits) allowing access to education Bac + 5 (i.e. a « Laurea triennale », a « Licence» or a Bachelor of Arts, etc.). For more information, see the section Eligibility.

Test Requirement [SAT, GRE, GMAT]: The candidates do not need to have sustained any international test such as SAT, GRE, GMAT.

English Language Requirement [TOEFL/IELTS]: In order to apply to the CLE Master’s Course, the candidates must know at least English (minimum level B1) and the language (minimum level B1) of the University of the consortium where they intend to spend their first year in the program. The candidates must send documents giving evidence of their level of proficiency in the required languages (e.g. diploma or university exams or language certificates or declaration written by a university professor competent in the subject stating the student language level). The language proficiency could be assessed on the basis of a Skype interview. The candidate will be contacted by the CLE by e-mail to fix an appointment and s/he is required to reply within seven (7) days from the receipt of the message. Failure to reply in time or no reply will imply the rejection of the application.

Supporting Material:
-Online application form duly filled in, signed and dated (printed at the end of the online application process)
-Copy of a valid passport or national ID card (ID card is accepted for EU citizens ONLY);
-Proof of the place of residence: a residence certificate or a certificate from the candidate’s place of work/study or training, stating the residence at the time of the application;
-Full curriculum vitae;
-Copy of the original diplomas indicating the final level obtained. In case the student has not yet obtained the degree at the time of the application, and he is in the last year of study, a document issued by his University of origin stating the estimated date to obtain the degree has to be produced instead of the diploma. All selected candidates must obtain their first cycle degree by July 31, 2016.
If students do not graduate within the due specified dates, the application will be cancelled;
-Transcript of records during the bachelor phase;
-Motivation letter (explaining the background of the candidate and the reasons for applying to the CLE Master’s programme);
-Two letters of recommendation written by academics/researchers who have participated in the candidate’s academic training. They must be written on a headed paper of the University concerned and signed by the referee. All letters of recommendation without a headed paper and not signed will not be considered and the application will be incomplete;
-Documents giving evidence of the student’s level of proficiency in the required languages (e.g. diploma or university exams or language certificates or declaration written by a university professor competent in the subject stating the student language level);
-Recent
-All selected students will be asked to provide us with:
a) the original University diploma indicating the final grade;
b) the transcript of records (all courses attended).
Documents a) and b) have to be authenticated and translated by one of the following authorities: the Italian, French, Greek or Senegalese Embassy or Consulate;
c) a declaration of the Italian (Dichiarazione di Valore), French, Greek or Senegalese Embassy/Consulate stating that the diploma issued by the University of origin corresponds to at least a three-year academic diploma.
Students who have not yet obtained the degree are accepted conditionally and they are expected to obtain their first cycle degree by July 31, 2016. If students do not graduate within the due specified dates, the application will be cancelled.

How to Apply: In order to apply for the Erasmus Mundus CLE, the candidates must follow a two-step procedure: online application and postal submission both mandatory. The signed and dated application form (printed at the end of the on-line application process) along with all documents required has to be sent as registered letter with a return receipt before the deadline.
