Applications are now open for a partially funded PhD position, on the interactions between anthropogenic pollutants and gene expression on key phenotypical traits in wild dolphins. The project will be based in the University of Lincoln (UK), in collaboration with the University of Durham (UK).
University aims to understand the evolution and ecology of populations, species and communities across all levels of biological organisation, from genes through to ecosystems.
The Evolution and Ecology research group is a highly collaborative, multi-disciplinary community of academics, postgraduate students and postdoctoral researchers.
Applicants must have a minimum 6.0 or equivalent IELTS score.
Course Level: Position is available for pursuing PhD programme.

Scholarship Award: This is a partly funded project, so the successful candidate will be required to apply for additional external funding.

Eligibility: Eligible candidates should have obtained a BSc in relevant fields, and while Masters degree is not required, candidates with stronger research experience will be favoured. In particular, research experience in Ecotoxicology, Molecular Ecology and Marine ecology/biology will be favoured. Experience with whole genome data and bioinformatics is desirable, but not essential. Candidates should be driven and self motivated, with an ability to carry out independent learning, and willingness to learn new and complex lab/analytical procedures. A clear demonstration of interest and enthusiasm for the subject is essential.
